Works abdominals and shoulder
stabilizers, as well as hip flexors and quads.
Don't
be fooled into thinking this one might be easy. True,
it's a shorter range of motion compared to a standard captain's
chair, and safer since you're closer to the ground.... but it's
still tough!
Gin demonstrates this modified version of the captain's
chair using 2 padded, sturdy barstools. Using a regular captain's
chair enables you to fully lengthen at the hip, but as discussed
in the Best Abs article review, people tend to swing the legs,
using momentum to perform the exercise.
Please note that you have to be strong enough in
the shoulders to support your body weight, so this is NOT
A BEGINNER EXERCISE.
